A number of subject areas reached the top 20 including Agriculture and Forestry(2), Music (4), Nursing (6), Anatomy and Physiology (10) and Creative Writing (13). Whilst ¾«¶«´«Ã½â€™s overall position in the table has improved, it has also held onto its fourth place among Welsh universities.
‘This recognition highlights the dedication of ¾«¶«´«Ã½'s staff in providing quality education and fostering a nurturing environment for students to excel both academically and personally’.
The Times & The Sunday Times Good University Guide 2024 focuses on various aspects of higher education including graduate employment prospects, teaching quality and the student experience.
This year's guide also emphasises the importance of what and where students study, with a strong focus on graduates’ career prospects.
Professor Burke added:
‘¾«¶«´«Ã½'s commitment to academic excellence and our dedication to supporting students for future success are key drivers in our continued move up the table. ¾«¶«´«Ã½ has continued to adapt its curriculum to the evolving needs of employers, embracing interdisciplinary work, and offering innovative programmes that prepare students for the challenges of the future.
We remain dedicated to providing a world-class education and contributing positively to our whole community as well as the environment, as is recognised not only here in The Times & The Sunday Times, but also in our 28-place rise in The Guardian’s league table (to 54th position) and our ‘Welsh University of the Year’ accolade (and top 50 position) in The Daily Mail’s inaugural league table, both of which were published last week’.
Helen Davies, editor of The Times and The Sunday Times Good University Guide, said:
The higher education landscape has never been tougher. It means any prospective student, parent, or carer needs to think hard about whether university is the right choice, and then where to study and what subject. It's where this guide — our 30th edition — is here to help.
