BBC’s The One Show revisits Beatles’ ¾«¶«´«Ã½ visit

Remember to watch The One Show on BBC 1 at 7.00 on Tuesday 23 November to find out about when The Beatles came to ¾«¶«´«Ã½.

The One Show has an occasional series looking at occasions when members of the public met famous musicians.  In Tuesday’s feature, The One Show revisited The Beatles’ visit to ¾«¶«´«Ã½ to meet Maharishi Mahesh Yogi.

Roh Flynn and Malgwyn Hughes being interviewed by Carrie GrantThe One Show tracked down local people who had played a part in the visit and walked them through their memories of those days in 1967.  Roy Flynn and Malgwyn Hughes (pictured) were interviewed by presenter Carrie Grant. The former telegram boy Roy, and postman, Malgwyn, delivered a telegram to the Beatles during their stay at the former Normal College Dyfrdwy Hall, now part of the Management Centre.

Geoff Dacre and Colin Evans being interviewed for The One ShowAlso taking part in the Show were Geoff Dacre and Colin Evans. As enterprising school boys, they had posed as press photographers to see their heroes. They surprised themselves by getting past security into the John Philips Hall, but ’scarpered’ after taking a few photos- as they thought their young age might reveal that they were not indeed, official press photographers!
