Christmas Market success
The business of the Christmas market caught by student, Pippa Beston. For the second year running the B-Enterprising team in the Careers and Employability Service held a Student Christmas Market in PJ Hall, Main Arts recently. The turnout and support from staff and students was overwhelming and B-Enterprising would like to express their thanks to everyone who took part and contributed to its success.
The University鈥檚 Director of Student Experience, Maria Graal, kicked off the festivities with her opening address. She said 鈥楽ince last year the Christmas Market has actually doubled in size. We have so much entrepreneurship existing amongst our student body. However, it鈥檚 important to say that the work that B-Enterprising does to promote enterprise skills is not just confined to the Christmas market. There are year round activities so students should get in touch with B-Enterprising 鈥 Thanks to everyone who has given their time and expertise voluntarily for today鈥

The event which was funded by the Welsh Government attracted over 1,400 visitors with over 70 stalls run by 150 enterprising students. The variety and quality of goods on offer was highly impressive ranging from handmade jewellery and stocking fillers to cakes and raffles. Delicious hot festive food including mince pies and mulled wine was available courtesy of Bwyd@精东传媒.
This was a great opportunity for staff and students to exercise their creative and enterprising skills in a fun and risk-free environment whilst raising some money for charity.
Mark Stevens, a stall holder on the 鈥楢sha Hope for Girls鈥 charity stall, said 鈥楾his is the first time I have experienced this kind of event 鈥 I鈥檝e found it unique, festive and very friendly.鈥
The Careers and Employability Service would like to thank all of the students for their efforts and for making this such a wonderful event for the university.
