Psychology at ¾«¶«´«Ã½
Your future in action.
At ¾«¶«´«Ã½, psychology isn’t just something you study — it’s something you experience. You’ll explore the science of the mind with world-class researchers who bring their discoveries straight into the classroom. From human brain dissections to running marathons in the name of science, your learning will be hands-on, exciting, and deeply connected to the real world.
- 86% of our research is world-leading or internationally excellent (REF 2021)
- Established in 1963, our department is one of the oldest in the UK
- Home to specialist labs, including an MRI scanner, TMS labs, EEG facilities, and a human brain anatomy lab
Here, research and teaching go hand in hand. You’ll be part of a department that’s shaping the future of psychology — and giving you the tools to do the same.

¾«¶«´«Ã½ is a place where people from all over the world come together — and where every voice matters. Our Psychology department is large, multilingual, and diverse, offering a learning experience that’s as inclusive as it is inspiring.
For Welsh-speaking students, we offer the opportunity to study through the medium of Welsh, celebrating our bilingual identity and making sure you feel at home in every part of university life.
Whether you’re local or international, you’ll find your people here. And with the stunning North Wales landscape on your doorstep, you’ll be inspired to think bigger, act bolder, and shape the future — just like we’ve done since 1884.
